If you are a true virtual reality user would know 2 big brand, virtual Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone and Oculus Go. Let's see what happens to these 2 gadgets....

Virtual Reality Vice President (VR) Facebook Hugo Barra attended the Qualcomm press conference at CES 2018, Las Vegas, USA, this week. He announced a partnership between Oculus and Xiaomi.

Barra announced that Oculus teamed up with Xiaomi as a manufacturing and marketing partner of VR Oculus Go gadgets worldwide.

Barra is the former head of global marketing Xiaomi who now works on Facebook as the owner of Oculus virtual reality company.

Previously, Oculus Go has been officially announced by Facebook, but the sales have not started yet. Ocram Go VR Headset itself uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chip and is sold at an affordable price.

"Xiaomi is our hardware partner to launch Oculus Go globally," said Barra.

Xiaomi will also market a VR headset named Mi VR Standalone specifically in the Chinese market. The Shape and Function of Mi VR Standalone is the same as Oculus Go. Both headsets are like the same product but different names.

They are equipped with WQHD LCD screen and compatible with Samsung VR Gear application titles. In other words, Mi VR Standalone and Oculus Go can be an alternative to Gear VR content without the need to own a Samsung smartphone.

While showing the two headsets on stage, VP Mi Ecosystem and Head of Mi Lab Xiaomi Thomas Tang say that Mi VR Standalone and Oculus Go are actually two similar devices with different logos.

Facebook sang the master of Oculus is still blocked in China, while Xiaomi is a popular brand in the Bamboo Curtain country. Perhaps the reason why Oculus took Xiaomi to market its VR headset under the Xiaomi brand in China.

both Mi VR Standalone and Oculus Go are equally capable of working independently without having to connect to a PC computer like a smartphone like any other VR headset.

They are equipped with WQHD LCD screen and compatible with Samsung VR Gear application titles. In other words, Mi VR Standalone and Oculus Go can be an alternative to Gear VR content without the need to own a Samsung smartphone.

Facebook owner Oculus is still blocked in China, while Xiaomi is a popular brand in China. So I concluded the reason Oculus took Xiaomi to market his VR headset under the Xiaomi brand in China.

May be always good for Oculus and Xiaomi....
